The Night Before The Hunt: A Celebration of Tradition, Taste, and Timeless Design

As Easton comes alive for the Waterfowl Festival, we invite you to begin the celebration a little early—right here at Welcome Home, located at 29 E. Dover Street in the heart of downtown Easton, Maryland.

On Wednesday, November 12, join us for The Night Before The Hunt, an evening that captures the spirit of camaraderie, craftsmanship, and heritage of timeliness design. We invite you to join us in celebration of the holidays and winter gatherings to come.

This special event brings together three iconic brands that epitomize elegance:

  • The Rambouillet Collection – Originally created in 1955 for the private hunting lodge of the President of France, the Rambouillet Collection is steeped in sporting-tradition elegance. What makes the pattern so distinctive is its hand-painted scenes of game—partridges, hares, ducks and pheasants, set against a finely detailed woodland backdrop in subtle earth tones, brushed with luxurious gold rims and delicate rim-filigree. We’re featuring the vase, dinner plates and salad plates, allowing you to create a full tablescape that draws on that hunting lodge spirit while still reading as refined and seasonal.

  • Le Jacquard Français – We are delighted to feature the Sologne Collection in rich gold and red hues. With its evocative motif of game and natural foliage, woven in fine linen and cotton in France, the Sologne line brings an elegant nod to sporting heritage and progressive table décor, perfect for your Thanksgiving and holiday tables this season.

  • Orrefors – Swedish masters of crystal craftsmanship, Orrefors brings three extraordinary collections to The Night Before The Hunt:

    • The Geometry Glassware Collection, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, transforms the classic wine glass into a study of pure form—spheres, cones, and cylinders rendered in delicate mouth-blown crystal.

    • The Bloom Vases Collection, by designer Lisa Hilland, pairs luminous glass with a sculptural metal grid top inspired by nature’s geometry—these graceful pieces make even a single stem feel like a full arrangement.

    • The Street Barware Collection, from designer Jan Johansson, channels the bold energy of New York’s avenues through sharp crystal cuts arranged in a striking grid pattern—modern, masculine, and made for toasting great company.

Our store will be transformed for the season, dressed in its holiday best to inspire your Thanksgiving and Christmas entertaining.

Enjoy fine wine and hors d’oeuvres from Chester River Wine & Cheese, along with a special tasting of Skellig Whiskey, a remarkable craft Irish whiskey produced by Skellig Six18 Distillery on the rugged coast of County Kerry. Matured in salt-laced Atlantic air, their Small Batch and Single Pot Still expressions draw character from sea-sprayed warehouses and maritime-aged oak for a smooth, distinct flavor built for meaningful occasions. Whether you’re a returning visitor for the Waterfowl Festival or a local friend, we invite you to stop by, raise a glass, and join us in toasting the start of this treasured Eastern Shore tradition.
